RATS |
|
Most common is the Norway or Brown Rat. They will be found almost anywhere but favour buildings for shelter when cold weather comes in. They are common in sewers and cellars. They eat almost anything at a rate of 20-50grams per day.
- Gestation is 21 days
- 7-8 in each litter
- 3-6 litters per year
- Reaches maturity at 3 months
- Often female is again pregnant whilst still feeding previous litter.
They are more of a problem during late Autumn through to winter when they require more substantial shelter however they breed at such a fast rate that they may be seen all year round, especially young rats foraging in gardens and other places. |
