Gulls are nowadays a big problem in towns and cities. They mess on buildings, pavements and cars. When nesting on buildings they become very aggressive when young are ready to fledge. They resent humans being anywhere near the chicks and often bombard people nearby and even in their own gardens. Only Common Gulls can be considered as pests. Herring and Black Headed Gulls are now protected.
Most producers now manufacture longer spikes to deal with gulls. These cost a little more than pigeon spikes but are very effective if sited correctly. |
