The main problem is with feral pigeons in the towns and cities. These remain close to man. They nest on and in buildings and as their numbers grow the mess grows with it.
They continually foul the same area. The mess builds up bringing with it a health hazard. Buildings are damaged and defaced, paintwork on various surfaces, paint on cars is damaged. Often gutters and drainpipes are blocked and the birds sometimes carry parasites. They congregate in very large numbers near to fast food outlets and have developed a taste for chips and crisps.
There are lots of options for control. As well as culling, nets, spikes and a variety of gels, which may be sticky, slippery or show as fire to the birds. All these methods have a place in repelling them.
We carry out all these measures. |
