Magpies have proved to be very successful whilst many other bird species have declined in numbers. They are strong, confident and can be bullying in nature. They eat a variety of food and in spring a large part of their diet is wild bird eggs and chicks. They are crafty birds and can be difficult to control unless the correct traps are used at the right time or year
