Fleas are commonly brought in by cats and dogs and despite the claims made by various traders, DIY products will only work if the fleas are in a fairly small area and this is very unlikely. They are even difficult sometimes for professionals to deal with using powerful insecticides but the fact is that, as with moths, the adults and eggs, when they hatch, need to be killed so a long residual acting insecticide is required. As fleas can jump considerable distances all soft furnishings need to be treated besides the floor. Fumigants will sometimes be required in addition as they can be on curtains, high surfaces which incecticide spray may not reach or be suitable. A cheap sounding quote will be exactly that, a cheap job. Fleas need to be dealt with in a very thorough way or they will not all be killed and re infest in a very short time.
